Most dog foods contain anywhere from 10 to 20 percent fat. If your dog isn’t at risk for illness and doesn’t have conditions like heart disease, diabetes, or pancreatitis, it is not really a problem if the food has a higher level of fat. The goal is to find a balanced food that has plenty of fiber, fat, and protein for most healthy dogs.
